Even today the figures are impressive: production alone cost around 200,000,000 escudos (around 1 million euros).<\/p>\n<p>The television advertisements were a success, both in Portugal and in the European markets where they were aired.<\/p>\n<p>All communications, both domestic and external, were created by Euro RSCG Lisboa. The agency\u2019s response to the advertising tender for the Exposition was an integrated communication strategy for the two years prior to Expo\u201998, as well as for the months during which the event ran.<\/p>\n<p>One year before Expo\u201998 opened its doors we saw the first TV advertisements: babies swimming underwater. Images as surprising as they were emotional, which were immediately enthusiastically received by audiences.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeoples\u201d was the Exposition\u2019s second advertisement. People from all four corners of the world walked underwater towards Expo\u201998, conveying the multicultural richness of the world and the idea of how together we can protect the oceans.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div> \n\t<\/div> \n\t<div class=\"wpb_video_widget wpb_content_element\">\n\t\t<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><div class=\"wpb_video_wrapper\"><iframe title=\"Teaser Expo 98\" width=\"1140\" height=\"855\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/pfBojZLvLDc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n\t\t<\/div> \n\t<\/div> \n\t<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element \">\n\t\t<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t\t\t<p>The last advertisement, \u201cThe oceans\u201d, was launched closer to the start of Expo\u201998.
